🎓🐭 Mini Challenge? Maximum Tech Experience! – Summer School 2025
Five days. One micromouse. A real international experience – right here in Budapest. That was this year’s evosoft x EELISA Summer School.
Our Product Prototyping and Designing summer university wasn’t just packed with tech – it was powered by community. From building micromice to forming new friendships, students walked away with hands-on skills and unforgettable memories.
Co-organized by EELISA and BME, the program took place at evosoft’s Budapest HQ – and from day one, it was clear this wasn’t your typical university week.
🌍 International team, shared flow
Students from Germany, Turkey, and several Hungarian universities came together, bringing diverse expertise from IT, electrical engineering, and marketing. Far from being a challenge, this diversity became a superpower. Collaboration was seamless, and the team spirit spoke volumes.
💡 Five days, full stack experience
Real tools. Real knowledge. Real impact. This is IT education on a new level.
From user-centred design and agile methods to laser cutting, 3D design and printing, soldering, and programming – all packed into just five days.
Students worked in evosoft’s TinkerBunker, our innovation and education workshop, using professional equipment to build micromouse components with the support from our colleagues. By Friday’s challenge, every mouse was ready – and nearly all completed the course.
💬 What did the students say?
“This was the best hands-on experience I’ve had so far.”
“I’ve never gained so many useful engineering skills in such a short time.”
“We need more of this. Or at least make it two weeks!”
“The chairs could’ve been more comfortable 😅”
🧪 Challenges, stories, solutions
Naturally, there were technical hiccups – sensor glitches, soldering snags, fitting issues – but every challenge became a learning opportunity.
What made the difference? The mentors. They didn’t just guide –they brought the sessions to life with real-world stories and hands-on examples. Add in lab tours and shared lunches, and the experience went far beyond the workbench.
🚀 From idea to impact
It all started with a simple idea: “Let’s create something meaningful for international students.” The result? An autonomous micromouse arena, sensor-based navigation, 3D-printed chassis – and a group of highly engaged participants. A strong team formed, a rich curriculum emerged, and the positive feedback poured in. Behind it all was a dedicated crew of organizers and mentors who made it happen.
