We went the distance - around the world!
In May and June, we ran and cycled far enough to circle the Earth — not just once, but one and a half times!
Our colleagues once again showed their passion to movement and sports. To celebrate evosoft’s 30th anniversary, we organized several initiatives to promote physical activity — and successfully got many people involved.
Running Challenge
Our Sports Club’s running challenge was a big hit! In just one month, our colleagues logged an incredible 20,761.6 km — that’s halfway around the world.
Participation was outstanding: a total of 4,347 activities were logged during the competition. More than 20 participants ran over 200 km, and one even surpassed 600 km in a single month!
In the weighted competition between business units and departments were just as impressive:
🥇 Support Functions led the way with 8,199 km
🥈 Application Solutions and Services followed with 7,285 km
🥉 Clinical Solutions secured third place with 5,932 km
Fun fact: the longest single run — an impressive 76 km — was completed by a colleague from the Support Functions!
And it wasn’t just about distance. We also tracked elevation gain, and the results were just as remarkable our colleagues climbed a total of 174,687 meters — that’s nearly 20 times the height of Mount Everest! (More details: fitChallenge)
Cycling Challenge
We also launched a dedicated initiative for our cycling enthusiasts — and they didn’t disappoint! Over the 30-day competition, participants collectively rode an impressive 34.438 kilometres. In total, 2,031 cycling activities were logged.
And here’s another fun fact: 7 colleagues cycled more than 1,000 km, with some even exceeding 1,500 km in just one month!
The weighted competition was won by the Engineering Department with 13,457 km, followed by the Clinical Solutions Department with 9,964 km, and the Embedded & Runtime Department in third with 7,129 km.
A brand-new addition this year was the elevation gain challenge — and we achieved astonishing results. Together, our cyclists climbed a total of 223,656 meters of elevation gain — enough, in theory, to reach the thermosphere!
In the weighted competition the Engineering Department once again claimed the top spot by with 85,227 meters of elevation gain.
The Embedded & Runtime department earned silver, while Application Solutions and Services Department took home the bronze.
Fun fact: Our top cyclist not only covered an incredible 1,825.8 km, but also achieved the highest elevation gain with 30,015 meters.
The longest single ride was a jaw-dropping 303.9 km, and some colleagues completed marathon rides over 200 km — enough to circle Lake Balaton, the Hungarian sea! (More details: fitChallenge)
Huge congratulations to all participating colleagues! Your energy, commitment and team spirit made this challenge a true celebration of movement and community.
