♻️🎓Partnering for the future – Recycling with BME

EN

Technological progress is not just about performance — it’s also about responsibility. At evosoft’s TinkerLAB, we believe that innovation and sustainability must go hand in hand. That’s why we’re especially proud to have launched a new collaboration with the Department of Polymer Engineering at BME, focused on recycling 3D printing waste.

A university partnership with real impact

We’ve been collecting PLA and PETG waste from our 3D printing processes for a while — but now, instead of ending up in the trash, this material is going back into the loop. Experts at BME grind the plastic and use their custom-built production line to create new filament, turning waste into usable printing material once again.

This collaboration not only help reduce our environmental footprint but also shows how industry and academia can come together to shape the technologies of tomorrow. The synergy between the department’s research expertise and our hands-on development needs creates value for everyone involved — students, engineers, the environment, and ultimately, society as a whole.

Why does this matter to a major IT company?

Because the future is shaped not only by code, but by values. In a world where technology is transforming every industry, sustainability can’t be an afterthought. Companies — especially in the tech sector — must lead by example, showing that innovation and accountability can go hand in hand.

For us, this project is more than a green initiative. It’s a practical expression of a new mindset: one that makes development not only fast, but thoughtful and ready for the future.
