Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword – it’s our codebase for the future. Sustainability starts here. To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we rolled out a series of sustainability programmes for our colleagues throughout May and June.
📌 Why does this matter to us as software engineers?
At first glance, a tech company might not seem like the obvious champion of sustainability – but that’s exactly why it should be. Behind every digital solution lies energy consumption, device usage, travel, and office operations – all of which leave an environmental footprint.
If we, the ones building the future line by line, don’t take responsibility for the planet, then who will?
🌱 Not just a trend, but a responsibility
Sustainability isn’t a passing trend – it’s a mindset. Our 30th anniversary was the perfect moment to show that green thinking at evosoft isn’t just a poster on the wall, but something we live every day.
Through hands-on experiences, community programs, and inspiring examples, our Sustainability Days in May brought this closer to everyone. .
📆 A little time travel back to May...
Sure, it’s already summer —but the vibe of our May Sustainability Days is still going strong, and for good reason!
From inspiring talks and creative ideas to community events and hands-on green experiences, our Budapest, Miskolc, and Szeged locations were buzzing with activity.
🚴 Bike breakfast
Many colleagues arrived by bike – and in Budapest, we even set up a repair station. It wasn’t just practical; it sent a clear message: green commuting is cool.
🪴 Plant swap
Our first evosoft plant exchange was a real success. Mini jungles found new homes, and many discovered a new hobby. One colleague shared:
“My plant is still on my desk – it reminds me every day that small steps can lead to real change.”
🥗 Sustainable delights
Tastings, conversations, homemade dishes – everything green and delicious. The specialties from Táncoskert were especially popular at our Budapest location.
🌼 Bee-friendly garden & green Challenge
We created a mini pollinator garden near the Budapest office – because biodiversity isn’t just nature’s job, it’s ours, too. We also launched the Sustainability Challenge, where many colleagues joined in with creative, eco-friendly ideas – and of course, we celebrated the greenest ideas with well-deserved recognition. 🐝🏆
⛵️🏴☠️ PET Pirates on Lake Tisza – We Fished Out Experiences, Not Just Waste
This summer, evosoft joined the PET Cup for the second time with its own team, diving into a unique sustainability adventure on Lake Tisza. Inspired by our GoGreen community, we built our own boat from recycled materials and spent several days cleaning up the waterways alongside other passionate teams. It wasn’t just about collecting plastic: it was about teamwork, environmental awareness, and unforgettable moments on the water. We’re proud to have been part of this initiative and already looking forward to the next one!
🧠 Inspiring thoughts
The talks didn’t just share information – they sparked new ways of thinking. Many colleagues said they now see water use, fashion, or even in a whole new light.
