Blood donors are more likely to survive car accidents 🩸😲❤️

Are you serious? If I ”bleed” regularly, don’t I bleed to death?

Yes, it’s one of the benefits if you give blood regularly. When donating blood, your body suffers a ”sudden blood loss” in controlled circumstances. The human organism ”learns” what to do if it happens out of the blue, let’s say, in a car crash.

Luckily, it's not something you do every day, but it's good to know that if you donate blood at least once a year, you are 88% less likely to suffer a heart attack. A regular decrease of iron-rich blood and subsequent replenishment due to blood donation can lead to a more beneficial lower iron level and thus reduces the risk of developing cancer.

It's been 5 years since our colleague, Kristóf, came up with the idea: "I would like to organize a blood donation event at evosoft." And as we've come to expect from Kristof, as soon as the idea was given the green light, he went ahead, took action, and got in touch with the Hungarian National Blood Transfusion Service (OVSZ).  Taking the lead, he became the face and driving force behind the initiative, which has been going strong for 5 years.

Every six months, we organize blood donations at all three evosoft sites: Budapest, Miskolc and Szeged. More and more of our co-workers donate blood from time to time.

In the spring of 2023, 147 employees donated a total of 661 dl of blood, which will help around 440 people who are sick or in need with the blood collected at evosoft. 🩸💪❤️🥰👏
