eAutomotive

 
 
 

With eCar on a mission, a car with no emission

In our eAutomotive project family, we develop an inverter software solution to control the electric drive of hybrid cars. Siemens has set up a joint venture with the automotive giant, Valeo, of which we are a key strategic partner in addressing of high business potential. Our developer and tester colleagues work on all layers of microprocessor-based embedded software. Our products already reflect our developments – the Volvo XC90 is the first hybrid Siemens drive-powered vehicle to go into series production from the autumn of 2015. LTC taxis equipped with our systems have been roaming the streets of London City since the summer of 2018, and our project vehicles for Volvo’s premium brand Polestar hit the roads in 2020. Alongside Volvo, we are making good progress in our developments for major car manufacturers such as Volkswagen.

Embedded success

At evosoft, we have been applying our knowledge that drives to the Sinamics drives platform and the Sinumerik CNC control product families for more than 15 years.
Both products count as premium category devices within their respective industrial segments, and we contribute directly to their success through the development and testing of Sinamics and Sinumerik’s real-time software.
To enhance the user experience, we are also developing an embedded tool based on web technologies for the Sinamics product family to make commissioning of the drive easier for the end-user.
We also support product development by implementing various state-of-the-art infrastructure tools related to the development and/or test infrastructure.
The fourth industrial revolution, the progress experienced in the automation and manufacturing world, offers the embedded world a break-out from its boundaries in functionality and technology. As our products’ digital twins are entering the industrial environment, we are also getting the chance to introduce development technologies which are (yet) unconventional for this industrial field but very modern.

Commissioning the world

In our Drives Engineering teams, we develop industrial automation software for supporting the commissioning process of the SINAMICS drive family as well as providing graphical programming environment. All these products are part of SIEMENS Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA-Portal) and the TIA Selection Tool environment.

With more than 100 employees and a knowledge base of 15 years, we are the key partner of the SIEMENS Motion Control business unit. As a result of our professional work, we also support product development in the highest professional management and complex management roles.

Furthermore, our Product Design and Research Team provide end to end User Experience services for our products: let users be part of the development process.

CSR and professional activities  

Our colleagues give regular lectures in-house, at several universities (BME, Miskolc and University of Szeged), and at several professional conferences, too.
